We stand In Solidarity With Our Community During the COVID-19 Outbreak

To our community,

At Proyecto Pastoral, we believe that it is in challenging times that the power of community is needed most of all.

Like many of you, we have been closely monitoring COVID-19 and taking a series of precautionary measures in accordance with public health guidelines. The well-being of our students, families, staff, and community remains our top priority as new developments occur each day.

Below is specific action we are taking effective Monday, March 16:

We have made the difficult decision to modify our on-site programming. Effective March 18, Proyecto’s Early Childhood Education centers will operate on a limited capacity and IMPACTO on-site programming will be closed until March 27.

  • The Guadalupe Homeless Shelter will continue to serve its residents; however, all volunteer groups who prepare meals for the shelter residents have been canceled.  Community organizers are making adjustments to Census outreach. Promesa Boyle Heights staff will continue to coordinate efforts remotely with schools, partners and resident leaders.

  • Proyecto Pastoral will also implement temporary telecommuting arrangements and the administrative offices will operate on-site in a limited capacity, with most staff working from home.

  • During this time, staff will be in regular communication with residents, youth and families so we continuously assess the need and how we can assist the community during this difficult time.

In responding to the Covid-19 pandemic, Proyecto Pastoral’s first priority is the health and well-being not just of our participants, but also of our staff and the community at-large.

The following is a list of ways people can support by donating needed supplies, or if you are able to make a monetary gift to Proyecto Pastoral -- Your help will ensure that we can continue to be present and a resource to those in our community who need it most.
