We Keep Us Safe

Proyecto Pastoral has been a longstanding cornerstone of the neighborhood, and we've been mobilizing to support our neighbors affected by the Lineage warehouse fire.

We know many families, workers, and residents are facing concerns about air quality, health, safety, transportation, lost wages, and other challenges resulting from this emergency. That's why we established a Fire Support Fund to provide direct assistance to those in the area who need it most.

Whether through a financial contribution or by sharing this message with your network, your support ensures that we can continue providing critical resources and long-term stability.

What We've Done

Since the start of the Lineage warehouse fire, Proyecto Pastoral has distributed over 675 air purifiers, masks, air filters, and more to families in need. These air purifiers and filters significantly reduce indoor smoke particles and harmful toxins, while high-quality masks provide essential protection against lingering ash and pollutants outside.

While we have taken these immediate steps, we recognize the road to true recovery for those directly affected is just beginning.

Request Support

We want to let the community know that applications for fire relief assistance through the Proyecto Pastoral Fire Relief Fund are paused beginning Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. PT. We will reopen the application when additional funds become available.

We have received a high volume of requests for financial assistance. We are prioritizing support for families closest to the fire, including older adults, young children, and those with respiratory illnesses. So far, we have distributed over $70,000 of support for rent, utility bills, and other needs resulting from the fire. We are working hard to secure additional funding so we can continue supporting our neighbors during this difficult time.

Our commitment to supporting Boyle Heights families impacted by the Lineage warehouse fire continues, and we remain dedicated to standing with our neighbors–including connecting community members with resources and support.
