Program Director, Comunidad en Movimiento
Enrique Gilberto Velasquez serves as the Director of Comunidad en Movimiento at Proyecto Pastoral, where he leads the program focused on community organizing, civic engagement, and collective empowerment in Boyle Heights. In this role, he collaborates with local residents to amplify community voices, foster civic engagement, and support neighborhood-driven solutions to address systemic challenges.
Comunidad en Movimiento is a core component of Proyecto Pastoral’s mission to empower Boyle Heights through grassroots projects in education, leadership, and service, rooted in solidarity and resident leadership. Under Enrique’s direction, the program’s work reflects the organization’s longstanding values of community participation and collective action.

Enrique holds a Master of Urban Planning (MUP), bringing expertise in community development and planning to his leadership of neighborhood-based initiatives that aim to enhance civic engagement and strengthen community networks.

At Proyecto Pastoral, Enrique partners with staff, community leaders, and local residents to build power from within Boyle Heights, creating spaces where people can shape their neighborhood's future through organizing, civic collaboration, and sustained collective action.
