Learn Our 40 Year History
Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission was founded in 1986 by Father Gregory J. Boyle, S.J. and a group of courageous and committed women from Boyle Heights, determined to build a better world for their community.
Over the past four decades, we have worked to honor and build upon the work of our founders. Today, we serve over 8,000 children and families through our early childhood education centers, youth development programs, homeless shelters, and community organizing efforts. Learn more below:

This year, we're celebrating four decades of working with our hearts for social change with a celebratory gala! Our 40th Anniversary Gala will bring together 300+ supporters of Proyecto Pastoral's impact work in the Boyle Heights community, including philanthropists, public figures, and valued members of the Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles Communities.
